Description
Cocoa powder and chocolate come from cocoa beans that grow on the tropical Theobroma cacao tree. After fermented, roasted and cracked, they are grounded into a dark brown paste to extract cocoa butter, leaving the natural unsweetened cocoa powder once dried.
-
Uses
The intense chocolate flavour of natural cocoa makes it the perfect alternative to satisfy your chocolate cravings in a healthier way. You can use it to make hot cocoa, brownies and pancakes. If used with recipes that require baking soda (an alkali), it will create a leavening action that allows the batter to rise when placed in the oven.
-
Storage
When stored in a cool (preferably less than 15˚C) and dry location (less than 65% humidity), shelf life is approximately 12 months.
