Westpoint Naturals is seeking to fill our Plant/Production Accountant with an enthusiastic individual, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork. This position has the responsibility of assisting with the many facets of the warehouse and accounting team. We are looking for an Accountant with inventory management experience.

 

The ideal candidate will be driven with a strong technical accounting background. Reporting to the Vice President you will be assisting with accounting, inventory costing, planning, and analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities:
•Responsible for the month-end/year-end accounting for the Vancouver manufacturer/distributor, including the preparation of period-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting the GM
•Prepare monthly inventory reconciliation, tracking inventory costing and quantities and assist in periodical and year-end inventory counts.
•Assist with any accounting related questions
•Assist in the production of monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial and management reports, including identifying areas of process improvement in financial reporting, costing and pricing, and tracking;
•Assist in the production of operational management and budget reports, including identify areas of process improvement in financial reporting, pricing, and tracking;

  1. Assist in managing warehouse employees (Cantonese/Mandarin Language skills)
  2. Assist in managing warehouse issues. – Maintenance/repair of the building, equipment.
  3. File Worksafe, EHT, GST Refund, Corporate Tax Instalments,
  4. Manage AP and AR
  5. Aid in Purchasing

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
•Food production or Manufacturing industry experience is an asset
•Proficiency in using Sage 50 Quantum Accounting is an asset
•Intermediate level Excel skills
•Analytical and problem-solving skills
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Cantonese
•Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills are required
•Ability to multitask and prioritize your workload

Warehouse Shipper/Receiver

Westpoint Naturals is seeking to fill one of our warehouse positions with an enthusiastic individual, with a strong work ethic and a commitment to teamwork. This position has responsibility for assisting with the many facets of the warehouse team including checking stock, interacting with customers and our drivers, checking product quality, and labeling packaging.

 

We are looking for a Shipper to develop, implement, track and optimize our packaging and shipping procedures in our warehouse.

 

We are looking for a Shipper to join our warehouse team.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Bring pick-up orders to the office for customers
  • Bring heavy product (over 30lb) from warehouse to packing room for retail packers
  • Pick products from stock bins to fill orders
  • Check the quality of products for the order
  • Apply correct labels to packaged products
  • Pack products in boxes and apply shipping labels
  • Provide box count to the office for waybill for each order
  • Put invoice in the final box and check waybill
  • Wrap pallets before shipping
  • Oversee loading of orders in courier vehicles
  • Unload products when shipments arrive and inspect for damage
  • Take photos of each shipment received
  • Unpack shipments and restock warehouse shelves
  • Rotate stock in the warehouse
  • Check stock in the warehouse
  • Collect COD payments from returning couriers and bring to the office
  • Keep loading dock areas tidy and organized
  • Keep products and equipment tidy and organized
  • Dispose of all garbage

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Able to lift 55 lb on a daily basis
  • Able to stand for 8 hours per day
  • Able to use a pallet jack (no forklift)
  • Able to read, write and speak English

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Warehouse or food industry experience
  • Spoken/Written English

We are looking for a packer to join our warehouse team.

Essential Duties:

  • Packing bulk food products
  • Bring product from warehouse to packing table
  • Bring heavy product (over 30lb) from warehouse to packing room for retail packers
  • Check quality of products
  • Measure and mix products for Westpoint blends
  • Pack bulk products into bulk bags (1-10kg)
  • Seal bags and boxes
  • Apply correct labels to packed products
  • Return packed products to warehouse shelf
  • Unload products when shipments arrive
  • Unpack shipments and restock warehouse shelves
  • Rotate stock in warehouse
  • Keep products and equipment tidy and organized
  • Maintain written records on products packed
  • Clean and sanitize packing equipment
