    Also known as wheat berries, wheat kernels are the seed of the wheat plant. Each kernel is composed of the endosperm, the bran, and the germ. Each part contains a different spectrum of nutrients, so eating the whole grain gives you full nutritional and health benefits. They are Hard Red Spring Wheat Kernels, high in fibre and a good source of iron and other vitamins and minerals.

  • Ingredients

    Organic Hard Red Spring wheat grain.

  • Directions

    Rinse 1 cup grain. Add 2 cups boiling water in a pot and cover. Reduce to simmer and cook 45 minutes or until tender and liquid is absorbed.

  • Uses

    Wheat kernels can be cooked and eaten for breakfast with your favourite oatmeal toppings. They are also good in soups and stews, or as a side dish alternative to rice or pasta. Whole wheat kernels can be sprouted for making sprouted grain breads or further grown into wheat grass.

  • Storage

    When stored in a cool and dry location, shelf life is approximately 9 months. Store away from perfumed products, soaps, detergents, cleaning solutions, or any other such chemicals.
