  • Description

Whole organic golden flax seed is produced from milling the flax seed into a fine meal. Flax seeds, also known as linseeds. are an excellent source of soluble dietary fibre, complete protein, and omega-3 fatty acids. Golden flax meal adds a pleasant, nutty flavour and tender texture to baked products.

  • Uses

Organic flax meal can be added for extra nutrition to oatmeal, yogurt, salad, soup, meat loaf, muffins, bread, or any other food item where a nutty flavour is appropriate. When altering a baking recipe to contain 20% or more flax meal, the fat should be decreased by the equivalent amount of oil contributed by the flax meal. 1 tablespoon of organic ground flax seeds and 3 tablespoons of water may serve as a replacement for 1 egg in baking by binding the other ingredients together.

  • Storage

Flax meal is rich in oil. Store it in airtight containers, at a cool temperature, away from excessive light and moisture. Storing it in the refrigerator or freezer can extend the shelf life to approximately 6 months.
