In fact its name is rife with meaning, as Basil comes from the Greek word Basileus, meaning “king”.

    For making Basil Tea, use 1/2 cup of basil with 2 1/4 cups of hot water. Steep for 3 - 4 minutes.

    - Making tea out of basil is a great way to calm digestive upset and receive the benefits basil provides as an adaptogen.
    - Facial Steam for Headache: A facial steam with dried basil leaf can help alleviate a headache. Add a tablespoon of dried basil leaf to 2 cups of boiling water in a large pot. Carefully lean over the pot, cover head with a towel, and breathe in the steam for 5-10 minutes until the headache starts to subside.
