  • Description

    Rye is a cereal crop grown extensively for food and forage. It is closely related to barley and wheat, yet contains a higher concentration of soluble fibre. These flakes are prepared from the rolling of cleaned, sound Certified Organic Rye Kernels. The product consists of light to dark blue-grey grain fragments and should be free from off flavours, odours and extraneous material.

  • Directions

    Add 1/3 cup cereal to 1 cup boiling water. Cook gently for 3 to 5 minutes. Add fruit, milk, or sweetening as desired.

  • Uses

    Rye flakes are commonly eaten as hot cereal but can also be used for making granola, muesli, creamy soups, stews, desserts, pie crusts, and baked goods.

  • Storage

    Product should be stored in a cool, dry area below 25˚C for an estimated shelf life of 4 months.
