  • Description

    This is a colourful selection of organic lentils with brown rice. Lentils are the seed of a small shrub, popular in many countries worldwide. They have a mild, earthy flavour and a soft texture. Brown rice is whole rice with only the hull removed. Since the nutrient-dense bran and germ layers are left intact, very little nutrition value is lost in the milling process.

  • Ingredients

    Green lentils, red lentils, French lentils, black lentils, brown rice.

  • Directions

    Rinse well. Add 1 part soup mix to 6 parts water. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes, then cover and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Season with salt, soup base or vegetables.

  • Uses

    Use this blend of organic lentils, and rice as the primary ingredient of lentil soup or as a substitute in any lentil recipe.

  • Storage

    Any mix containing brown rice is very susceptible to rancidity due to the presence of the bran. The product should be stored in a cool dry area. Optimum shelf life is 3 months. It is highly recommended to keep the product refrigerated during the summer or for extended shelf life
